Rim Akandoh Jnr & Amamere - Ghana
The eight-member Highlife band, founded in 2022 by Rim Akandoh Jr., draws inspiration from Ghana's rich musical heritage. They have been performing in Ghana for some time and recently released their debut album Man Shall Be Free (Afro Urban Project, 2025). In April 2026, the band embarked on their first international tour of Europe.
In their music, they combine the 70s Highlife style, in which the guitar takes center stage, with Afro-funk influences. Their sound is energetic, layered, and captivating, inviting the audience to dance. With a background in performance and storytelling, every song has its own character and meaning.
