Guinea Music All Stars - Guinea
Guinea
Guinea Music All Stars was founded by Moh Kouyaté. He has a mission: to make modern Guinean music known to an international audience. To do this, the guitarist and singer has surrounded himself with well-known musicians, such as Sékouba Bambino, as well as young talents from the country. Sekouba Bambino at a very young age (hence his nickname Bambino) replaced the charismatic singer Demba Camara of Bembeya Jazz, who died in a car accident in 1973.
The sound of the eight-piece group consists of guitars, keyboards, bass and drums, as well as more traditional instruments such as balafon, kora and ngoni. The group's repertoire consists of new compositions on the one hand, and classics of the orchestras from the golden age of Conakry on the other, such as Bembeya Jazz and Balla et ses Balladins.
Guinea Music All Stars bridges the gap between generations by playing the music of the past and showing that the current music scene of Conakry still produces a lot of beautiful things.
