Florence Adooni - Ghana
The singer Florence Adooni is part of the thriving Frafra Gospel scene in her home country of Ghana. She has been called the "Queen of Frafra Gospel". This gospel style has developed in the churches of North-East Ghana. It is music to be sung dancing and clapping during a busy Sunday service.
Florence grew up in Kumasi, the epicenter of Ghanaian highlife, so her frafra gospel style is mixed with that other strong musical tradition, the melodic and rhythmically pulsating highlife.
She comes with an eight-piece band including several festive horns. Florence performs for the first time outside her home country and it is her first concert in the Netherlands.
