Aboubakar Traoré, originally from Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso), is a virtuoso on the kamélé n'goni and an exceptional singer. Through his music, he breathes new life into the rich heritage of the Mandingue griots. He tells stories, highlights the daily struggles of his people, and pays tribute to the elders and ancestors who have shaped the history of his country and of Africa.
Together with the outstanding musicians of his band Balima, Aboubakar Traoré seamlessly blends tradition with a vibrant musical palette and fresh energy.
Their debut album "Tama Tama" (2019) was nominated for the Octaves de la Musique (2021), and the band was selected for showcases such as Visa For Music (Morocco, 2023) and Belgian Worldwide Music Night (Brussels, 2023).
